What do others say about Capella University?

. . . We're not the only ones who think they suck!

Of course, we've long believed that Capella University sucks - but don't take our word for it, look at what others have to say!

• The Chronicle of Higher Education reported that "Silvia Guzman, regional human-resources manager for ProTec Building Services, likens online degrees to diploma mills or institutions that advertise on career Web sites promising to help you earn a degree in a year. . . She mentioned . . .

  several universities that raise red flags for her when she sees them on résumés, including Capella University, an accredited for-profit online institution, (emphasis added)

  and the University of Phoenix, an accredited for-profit institution that has both classroom and online programs."

• A blogger warns (Mar. 25, 2007):

  "But for an online university [such as Capella University], the bottom line is indeed the bottom line. In order to pull in as many students/customers as possible, they set their standards for students low—they will take anyone who is willing to pay. If you contact a representative—or are contacted by one—you often aren’t speaking to a guidance counselor who has your best educational interests at heart, you are speaking to a salesperson who has to meet a quota and bring in as many paying customers as possible, or, like a telemarketer, they are promptly fired."
  

• A user on LinkedIn warns others (Mar. 14, 2007) to:

  "avoid some heavily-advertised "for-profit" schools such as University of Phoenix and Capella University, who, though they have regional accreditation, are best suited to students splashing about in the shallow end of the gene pool."

• A user on RipoffReport.com states:

  "I contacted Capella University about Ph.D. classes in business, and was hard-sold by their "counselors" who called me and pressured me to enroll. The per credit cost I was originally quoted was increased after my first term. . .Later, I got a bill for about $1,800 from Capella, even though I did not participate in the classes and thought they had been dropped. I have complained to the Federal Trade Commission and the Washington State Attorney General about this, and Capella refuses to recognize the error."

• A user on OnlineDegreeReviews.org (Feb. 24, 2007) states:

  "As the growth of online education continues I do not understand why anyone would even consider an online university that does not also have traditional on-campus programs. "Schools" such as Capella, Walden, NCU, Phoenix, and others are not well respected by academia or human resources professionals in business."

• Another user on OnlineDegreeReviews.org (Mar. 5, 2007) states:

  "I have had the "Capella experience." I entered Capella in May 2006...and I do regret it! If you want to go to a school that you can easily get by in, then Capella is the perfect choice! Who wouldn't want to turn in all of their assignments and automatically get a 100 with little to no effort?! I can say that the ONLY thing that I have learned from the experience is NOT to seek out schools such as Capella, Walden, and NCU."

• A user on Epinions.com (Jan. 11, 2007) reports:

  "I am doing very well at my new school [after leaving Capella University]. I am glad I decided to leave. If you want to go to an on-line university it is not a bad idea if you're busy like myself. However, you MUST do your research just as if you're buying a car. Ask them questions and argue with them. Test the waters before you put your hard earn money into it. I wasted thousands of dollars [at Capella University], but I learned that we all have a choice. Which is why I am no longer there. There are plenty of genuine schools out there."

• Still another user on StudentsReview.com (Jan. 29, 2007) states:

  "I made the mistake of attending Capella University. In my opinion, this institution doesn’t deserve accreditation... My experience with instructors and format were disappointing. When the format we used to interface with the university changed, it resulted in confusion. I dropped my class and protested. Capella refused to refund fees and turned it over to collections. Capella’s collection agency dropped the case, so Capella (and/or its agents) gave it to other agencies to continue the harassment. Other students also report unethical collection practices ...Poor quality of instruction. My PhD classes were taught by people that didn't seem to have the expertise necessary to teach the class...Recommendations - steer clear of Capella and heavily advertised online programs. Go with in-state online programs offered from reputable institutions."

• And still more from a user on TeacherFocus.com (July 6, 2006):

  "Watch out for the comps at Capella. The mentoring and advising are almost non-existent. It's very possible not to pass, and there's no re-enrollment. Many students in the Ph.D. program in Education are seeing their thousands of dollars in tuition money go down the drain, even after they’ve completed all of their coursework with a good grade point average."

Of course, these are just a few samples of what others have to had to say about Capella University. Do you think that whiney H. Christian L'Orange (Sir Chrisy the Sissy) and Capella Stella Fey Epling (the Drinker Biddle Attorney who intentionally lied to the court) will sue them too? Where is Shawn Ambrose, Capella's chief pompom girl, "learner" extraordinaire, employee, and zealot? Why hasn't Vickie Cook, "Dean of Continuing Education and University Alliance" at Kaskaskia College, former WalMart cashier, and Capella's Poster Child, who lies to Federal Court under penalty of perjury, attacked these individuals with her venom too? Perhaps its because Sir Chrisy and Capella Stella Fey Epling (the liar) finally put big corks in their holes. Then again, Sir Chrisy and Capella Stella are too busy making up (i.e., fabricating) "facts" for their pernicious court briefs. As long as we're mentioning Capella's "Dream Team", we wanted to report on Sir Chrisy's and Capella Stella's fetish for counting imaginary things - one of the most hilarious (and utterly bizarre) claims is that this site has well over 25,000 pages: they also like to make up imaginary figures (or claims) regarding the number of visitors who visit web sites. Of course, we suspect that Sir Chrisy and Capella Stella must be smoking something. Especially since we have learned that Sir Chrisy has a master's degree in "computer science" (one would have thought that he might have learned how to count - or, then again, he could have gone to Capella). So, to honor these two clowns' fantasies, here's a counter just for them:

Hurry, Chrisy, hurry! Better count fast!
